HillaryClinton-Secretary Of State

Hillary Rodham Clinton is the current secretary of state for the Obama administration.

Hillary Clinton made her first official overseas trip as secretary of state in February 2009, with stops planned in Japan, China, South Korea and Indonesia.

The role of Secretary of State is seen as the most non-partisan of all the cabinet posts. The public face that America puts out to the world is what many countries around the world relates to all American's.

The Secretary of State is appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. The duty of Secretary of State is the President's chief foreign affairs adviser. The Secretary carries out the President's foreign policies through the State Department and the Foreign Service of the United States.


Hillary Clinton, suspended her campaign for the Democratic nomination in June 2008. She endorsed her main opponent, Barack Obama.

The decision to appoint Hillary as Secretary of State brought many to their feet, in celebration of President Barack Obama and the conformation by the US Senate.
